​When you visit the salon, I want you to feel listened to. That’s why I take the time to have a comprehensive consultation before beginning your service.

This allows me to get to know you, your hair and healing journey as well as understand any challenges you may have, and determine your desired hair and healing goals.

We also take into account your individual features, lifestyle, and personality to create a tailored hair plan to achieve a style that works for you or a healing plan to create postive change and achieve your healing goals.

My focus is to provide you with a relaxing, enjoyable experience that leaves you feeling rejuvenated in your Body, Mind and Soul and confident in your new look.

What you need to know before scheduling an appointment.

To wash or not to wash before your hair appointment.

This is one of the most asked questions I have received in my decades of hairdressing.

I think it is a good subject to address and shed some light on how I would like you to come into the salon.

Before a haircut :

Especially if this is your first time with me. I want to see your hair in its most natural state so I can see if you have any cow licks or widows’ peek in your fringe area, ducks’ tail at the nap or a double crown as well as feel it and determine your hair texture, structure and how I will cut your hair.

Clean(ish) hair is preferred, hair that has been washed 2-3 days prior with minimal product. Oh, and freshly brushed would be much appreciated if it’s really knotty, dready especially with curly hair as I don’t want to hurt you! Also if you are new to me be mindful of the ponytail band creases. This prohibits me from seeing anything close to what your hair does naturally.

For short or curly styles that are not knotty, no need to brush these locks! The closer your hair comes to me in its own shape and texture the better the flow of cut for me.

Overly heavy or sticky products compromise the true weight of your hair and will make things tricky for me when sectioning and checking your hair. Again, it hurts me to hurt you so please be mindful of this.

Before a Colour : Whoever told you that colour goes on better on dirty hair doesn’t apply to me!

When having a colour service it is even more important that your hair comes in clean(ish), free from product build-up and 100% dry otherwise this will compromise our time, the application, saturation and absorption of the colour.  My colours are gentle and restorative; they aren’t designed to push through a week’s worth of dry shampoo! If you do experience any stinging or pain you may have something else going on like a scratch or inflammation and this should be noticed upon consultation.

Deposit

All NEW client appointments will require a 50% deposit when booking your appointment.  You will be sent an invoice to make payment. This will secure your appointment and ensure you are able to come in at your preferred time. This will be deducted off your bill on completion of your service.  Deposits will be lost if rescheduling or cancelling within 48hrs.

Cancellations/Rescheduling policy

The Eternal Essence of you is a little salon, quietly located. We operate on an appointment only basis unable to rely on walk-ins to fill last minute cancellations. We require at least 48 hours notice if you wish to cancel or change your scheduled appointment, giving us time to pass your appointment onto someone else.

If cancelling within 48hrs you will be required to pay 50% of what your appointment would have been booked for on the day.

If rescheduling within 48hrs you will be required to pay a 50% deposit for the future appointment- this will be treated as a normal deposit; as explained above.

Cancelling your Appointment

This can be done by:

  • Phone – leave a voice message or text.
  • Facebook– leave a direct message.

Late Arrival

We totally understand that the best laid plans can come undone.

Our time is valuable, as is yours. You must arrive on time to ensure you receive the full service you have booked in for. Please let me know if you are running late and I will do what I can to accommodate you. However, I may not have time to complete the whole service, in which case you will need to make another booking or reschedule your appointment entirely. I also need to ensure my other clients for the day aren’t affected. See our rescheduling policy as explained above.

What do I need to know about salon time management?

I pride myself on running on time and do everything in my power to maintain strong time management. Clients turning up for their appointments on time helps keep me on track. Sometimes I run late because of human error. I will always contact you if I am running late via text or a phone call. If you’re running late, please call me and let me know. Because my schedule is often fully booked, starting your appointment later affects all the other scheduled appointments after yours. It’s also challenging to fit everything into the shortened appointment time to achieve your hair goals and give you the complete service. I love it when my clients arrive on time and sincerely appreciate your co-operation in helping my days run smoothly.

DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?

As a general rule we do not give refunds on hair services.

Peace of Mind

On the unlikely occasion that you are unhappy with your hair or have any questions or concerns, please let me know as soon as possible within 1 week of your visit. If you’re not satisfied with the services provided or work performed, I require you to come back into the salon, so I can see your hair and make adjustments to ensure your satisfaction. Adjustments are done at no cost if they are considered reasonable and made within and no longer then the required 2-week period after the initial service. Please contact me by phone or email to remedy this.

I will refund products with the presentation of the receipt. If you have used the product but feel that what you have purchased is unsuitable, I will be able to swap it for something that is more suitable.

We don’t provide refunds on home haircare products or electrical items if you change your mind.

RESPONSIBILITY OF CHILDREN AND PERSONAL BELONGINGS

The Eternal Essence of You is a relaxing place for adults. If your children are accompanying you please consider the following:

  • Salon furniture is for professional use only.
  • Working on a device like a tablet, phone or laptop is something which will help you and is not a problem at all. If you are waiting for an important call, it’s totally fine to answer the phone while I am doing your hair. I would however like to ask if you could limit each call to just a couple of minutes as the actual device can get in the way of applying colour, foils and cutting. Please note if the phone is used with earphones, it may still be in the way or get accidentally damaged. In consideration for other guests and to maintain a relaxed atmosphere we respectfully request that all phones, iPads and other electronic devices be kept on silent.

  • kids need to use headphones while using electronic devices.
  • Bring uno cards, connect 4 game, books for them to read, colouring in books and colour pens/pencils/crayons.
  • Respect that we have allocated a certain amount of time to do your hair and if the supervision of a child takes up your appointment time, then some services may need to be forfeited.
  • Due to limited seating, we kindly request that if clients bring friends, relatives or children in to wait for them whilst having their hair services done, for them to sit on the deck lounge area at the entrance of the salon. Children need to be supervised especially children under 5 yrs old and most importantly, we are mindful of the safety of your children in the salon. If you are having a colour you may go outside with them while you wait for your colour to process.
  • Personal items are always the responsibility of the client.

On-Line Energy Healing Sessions

I provide in-person and On-line Energy Healing sessions. Which is just as effective and powerful as a in-person healing.

This is done via a video call meeting: A link will be sent to you via email, then just click the link at the scheduled time. Payment also needs to be made and cleared in bank account prior to your appointment. An invoice will be included in this email.

If you are New, a detailed client form will need to be filled out 2 days prior to your 1.5 hr Initial consultation & healing appointment. Phone Energy Healing sessions are also available as an option.

COLOUR CONSULTATIONS

I require all NEW colour clients to come to the salon for a 30 min. complimentary colour consultation prior to your  appointment day. Please let me know when booking. Until you’ve had a colour consult with me you won’t be able to book in any colour services. $30 deposit is required upon booking and comes off your colour service or refunded if you decide not to go ahead with the colour service.

Detailed Consult

We discuss what colour you would like to achieve, and the process to get you there.  We need to know your colouring history, what you use on your hair and whether you have any intolerances to ingredients, are taking any medication or have had any medical treatments.

Please note: Ladies who love changing their hair colour monthly or crazy colour punk looks please understand these require a lot of colour correction, work and time that I may not be able to give, therefore I will assess each case whether I am able to do it or not.

Also, ladies who have extremely damaged hair from a lot of chemical services and daily iron straightening or blow-drying please understand I am very happy to fix and help repair the damage but only if you are 100% committed to achieving healthy hair by following my repair methods completely. Remember the colour is as good as the condition of the hair.

E.g. If the condition of the hair is shot to the point of snapping off (this is extreme) your colour will just wash out in a few days and you have wasted your money. Your hair just can’t hold the colour. I care about your hair enough to say no and encourage you to take the necessary steps to improve the condition of your hair first.

Exact Quote & Budget Concerns

Quotes for all colour services will not be issued by email or via social media platforms. I am happy to provide a price guide after a detailed conversation over the phone and whilst I endeavour to provide accurate price guides over the phone, prices may vary following a face-to-face in-depth colour consultation in the salon.

Because It’s important that I serve you the best I can now and in the future. I’d love to hear what budget you have allocated for your hair services and home hair care products. I can potentially use smart and creative colour placement techniques to be able to work within your budget. This may look like perhaps reducing the amount of foils you have or delivering your hair services over two separate appointments weeks apart with in the month, but I’m confident I can achieve your hair goals while adhering to your budget and needs. I am genuinely here to help.
